The Weekly Wedding Fix #2

Hello there,
Wednesday again so time for another Weekly Wedding Fix. This week the theme is A White Wedding. I really enjoyed putting this one together, I love the idea of a totally white wedding, so romantic and sophisticated :)

1. I think white weddings are gorgeously glamourous so a classic A-line dress like this satin Maggie Sottero gown would be a perfect choice.

2. Aren't these Red Herring heels amazing? There are so many pairs of lovely white shoes out there, and unlike a colour themed wedding, there is no hassle of making sure they do not clash with other clothing or flowers.

3. When choosing white dresses for your bridesmaids, my main piece of advice is to only look at shorter length dresses. Choosing a full length number will subtract from the impact of your wedding dress, and no bride wants that on her big day! I found this simple yet beautiful dress *here*

4. There is the potential to make your tables look stunning using a simple white theme. By using glass charger plates as well as simple white crockery and lighting the table with plenty of tea lights the table will look warm and glowing.

5. White bouquets look elegant and feminine and my personal favourites are the ones using just one or two different type of flower. Using flowers with a coloured centre or adding lots of greenery to the bouquet keeps it looking cute and fresh.

6. A beautiful white wedding calls for a beautiful white cake. With such a simple theme, it is possible to choose a truly sensational, decorated cake without the effect looking too much. This flowery cake would look show stopping in your elegant reception venue.

7. These little white pails can be filled with sweets, chocolates, the traditional sugared almonds or even planted with a small plant and would make lovely favours for guests that can be used by them again after the event.

8. Clear cocktails are the perfect choice for this theme. They are just as exciting in flavour and as an added bonus, if spilt they won't stain clothing or tablecloths! This recipe for a Sake Champagne Mojito would be a unique and refreshing option.

Is a white wedding a theme that you would choose for your big day? I love the idea but I just *love* colours too much, I know mine will be packed with colour. How about you? What themes are you considering?

  1. I love your weekly wedding fix!

My half-sister is getting married in June so I've been picking up tips from you!

Having a huge stress over bridesmaids dresses though, hideous theme of purple & lilac :(, any tips of where I can find something? I'm budgeting about £150 for dress and shoes.

    1. Thank you :)

What sort of style are you looking for? Long, short, mid length? And do you want to go for lilac or a darker purple?
A good place to start is on the high street, getting the bridesmaids to try on different shade of purple and different styles of dress so that you can see what looks best :)
http://www.weddingshoesdirect.co.uk is a great site for shoes, you just choose the style you like best and then dye them from a HUGE selection of colours. Hope I've manages to help a bit. Next week I'll do the weekly wedding fix on a purple theme as well to give some inspiration :) Annie x

    2. Really not sure about style, just know that I don't want to wear lilac, so I'm opting for something aubergine.
I didn't even think of checking the high street first! Will have a look next week.

Eagerly anticipating your next Wedding Fix! Lovely blog!
