I've had that song stuck in my head for hours now. It feels like a while since I've posted a mugshot so heres todays makeup from 7.30 this morning. It feels like spring is finally starting to show itself so I've been going for light and glowing the last few days :)
I'm loving these Russian doll earrings at the moment, I like that they're nice and eye catching, especially worn against fairly subtle makeup.

Makeup Mugshot- Spring is Springing!
Today has really felt like spring is on its way; through the cold air the sun has been shining and the crocuses have popped out. To get in the mood for spring I went for light, fresh looking makeup today (even though I have huge eye bags from not sleeping much last night and having only got up half an hour earlier!)
Look how light it was at 7.30 this morning! Spring must be here!
Products used:
Face:
Bourjois 123 Perfect foundation in light vanilla
Rituals Gemstone enriched blush in Sunglow Pink
theBalm Fratboy blush
Lush Emotional Brilliance translucent face powder
Lush Feeling Younger skin tint
Eyes:
Bobbi Brown powder in mahogany on brows
Bobbi Brown eyeshadow in Pastel Pink
Lush Sophisticated cream eyeshadow
Soap and Glory Thick and Fast mascara
Lips:
Max Factor colour elixir lipstick in Bewitching Coral
What do you think of todays look?...minus the eyebags that is. I'm loving the fresh, dewy look at the moment, it really is getting me excited for spring and summer to come. Are you getting that spring feeling?

Makeup Mugshot: Minerals and Shimmer
Today has been amazing so far, I got offered a new job which I'm really excited to start, the sun has been shining and actually giving off warmth aaand I've been shopping (photos here). To celebrate such a fab day I'm going out this evening with my lovely mummy :)
Today I kept makeup pretty simple, going for subtle cheeks and lips, a little shimmer on the eyelids but lots of super black mascara, I just love the look of my lashes with the Soap and Glory Thick and Fast mascara *review here*
Lolly the Grumpy Kitty is having one of her clingy days and growls whenever I try to move her from my lap so she's in my mugshots too today haha.
Products used:
Face:
Bourjois 123 perfect foundation in light vanilla
Lush sheer face powder in emotional brilliance
Miners blush and bronze duo
Bare Minerals warmth all-over
Benefit High Beam
Topshop Brighten concealer pen
Eyes:
Bobbi Brown mahogany shadow on brows
Bobbi Brown baby pink shadow all over lid
Catrice Made to Stay cream eyeshadow
Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara
Lips:
MAC Brave lipstick
It always amazes me listing down what I've used just how much makeup it takes to look like you...only a bit better because I'd definitely call my very made up face a natural look. Madness eh what we do to feel confident :)
Have a good monday! I am!

Makeup Mugshot #11 A New Feline Friend
So I haven't blogged properly in a while now, I'm sorry about that, I just seem to always be busy with one thing or another. I have a couple of posts lined up now and have set time aside to get writing. I visited a Cosmetics Company Outlet today so I have some fab MAC buys to show you tomorrow, but today I thought I'd show off yesterdays makeup.
I'm a member of a beauty group on facebook called Beauty Box Swaps where you trade new and lightly used beauty products and yesterday I decided to do a FOTD using almost solely BBS obtained products.
Face:
Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation in Light Vanilla (BBS)
MAC Pinch O' Peach powder blush (BBS)
Natural Collection sheer pressed powder
Benefit High Beam highlighter (BBS)
Eyes:
Benefit Browzings in medium (BBS)
Bourjois eyeshadow that I can't remember the name of (BBS)
MAC So There Jade Powerpoint eye pencil (BBS)
Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara
Lips:
Lush Honey Trap lip balm
MAC Lickable lipstick (BBS)
The reason I made myself look all nice and polished yesterday is because we visited the Bath Cats and Dogs home to bring home the newest member of the family; Betsy. Betsy is a gorgeous, very cheeky 7 year old tabby who's last family couldn't look after her any more. She settled in here straight away and is napping in a little ball at the foot of the bed as I write this.

Hello Blog- Makeup Mugshot
So its all been a bit quiet around here lately. I really am sad about that. I love writing this blog and I have so much planned, its just taking me a while to get in to the swing of fitting in my new job, socialising with friends, doing everything that needs doing and still finding the time to write lots. But a weekend means time to snuggle up with a cup of hot chocolate whilst its raining outside and devote some time to my lovely blog <3 I've really missed writing so its an exciting thought.
Don't forget me, I'm still here :)

Exciting News and an Anniversary FOTD
Its been an exciting few days for me, and I'm sorry I've been a bit absent but its been a few days of celebrating.
Wednesday, as you may know, Dan and I celebrated our 4th anniversary. We had a really lovely day where I was treated to some lovely gifts and so was Dan (I haven't forgotten that I said I would show you!) we also ate fab chocolate, went for a delicious meal and rounded the day up by playing Lego Pirates of the Caribbean on the Wii :)
Thursday was a really big day for me. In the early afternoon I had a trial shift with LUSH for what would, lets face it, be my dream job. I had a really great time working on the shop floor, showing people how fab the bath bombs are and how fun shower jelly can be so I was completely over the moon when the shift ended and I was offered a job instantly, I didn't even have to sit down for an interview. I can't begin to tell you how happy I was to hear that I would be working for one of my favourite companies. In terms of blogging I hope that being employed by LUSH doesn't effect how people feel about any of my reviews of LUSH products. I will continue to write about them, and continue to be 100% honest as I always have been.
Considering yesterday all of this excitement with Lush took place, due to holiday and confusing circumstances, today was actually my last day at Debenhams. I hate leaving jobs, it feels so strange to be leaving the building and know you won't be behind the scenes there any more. I really enjoyed my stint in the restaurant there and all the staff were lovely but at least I'm leaving for exciting new things...and a three week holiday in Mallorca!
Phew, so wordy! So on to some photos of Wednesday nights makeup:
I decided to keep things nice and simple, smooth skin, light pinky blush and bold lips.

FOTD- Sushi Time!
Hello,
This week has proven to be so stressful so far. On tuesday I ventured over to Bristol for the Benefit recruitment day which was hours of interviewing, learning, makeuping and sell sell selling. I was proud to get through the day as its no secret I have zero confidence when it comes to approaching people and trying to force makeovers on the unsuspecting public was definitely out of my comfort zone. I didn't get offered a job but I was so proud of myself for not running a mile in the opposite direction and hiding amid the slippers or anything else equally as useless :) In all seriousness though, I do need to find a job with more hours than I'm doing now so if anyone knows of any going near Bath/Bristol then do let me know!
This evening is date night. Well, loosely anyway. Daniel and I are going to brave the rain and enjoy a meal at Yo Sushi, making the most of Blue Thursday where every dish on the belt is £2.40 each. Needless to say, this will involve much over excitement and a lot more self restraint than either of us possess so there is likely to be a sushi induced food coma going on later.
As its kind of date night, I thought I should make a bit of effort so here is my makeup for the evening.
I went for a pretty natural look, trying out some of my new bits of makeup and just adding a little colour to my eyelids.
At the moment I am totally obsessed with clear, glowing skin so I spent most time fussing over my cheeks and hiding MONSTER pores around my nose.
I got sent a new Avon eye quad in a swap that I tested out on my eyes, its hard to see in the photos but I've blended purple into brown along the eyelid and then gently flicked it out at the corner. I hardly ever use eyeliner these days, instead I use a small concealer brush to sweep coloured eyeshadow along the lid as it gives a softer colour but where the brush is fairly dense it still gives a good pay off.

Makeup Mugshot #3
Hello,
I have been so busy over the last few days its unreal. I've been doing a lot of over time and when I haven't been working I've spent some great time with lots of various friends as well as Dan and my mum. I haven't really had much tome for blogging but I'm charging my camera as I speak so that I'll be able to take some photos for some product reviews this week. I'm a bit lipstick crazy at the moment so there's a few new lippy reviews I'm a put together as well as the well known dupe of Benefits High Beam from Technic which I bought the other day and love! I'm also planning a eyebrow how-to post for one day this week so there should be lots going on.
For now though, here is todays makeup mugshot. Sorry about the eye bags, I was rather hung over this morning and there's only so much that makeup can do!

- Technic High Lights highlighter
- Rimmel London black/brown brow pencil
- Bobbi Brown eyeshadow in pastel pink
- Rimmel London Glam eyes liquid eyeliner
- Max Factor False Lash Effect black mascara
Lips:
- M.A.C satin lipstick in Brave

- 17 lip liner in Fawn
Its amazing how much makeup it takes to look normal version of yourself after a night out. It also takes extra time when you have a cat come and sit in the middle of everything whilst you're trying.
Got to love Lolly the Grumpy Kitty!

Makeup Mugshot #2 + a Sally Hansen Review
Hello,
There is nothing quite as relaxing as a day off.
Today has been a day of doing very little and just enjoying spending some time with Daniel. We had a friend over for the afternoon and ate wayyy too much pasta before slobbing out on the sofa in front of property hunting programs like old people.
The only reason I bothered with makeup today was so our friend wasn't unfortunate enough to have to see my blank canvas face. Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to see people other than Dan and my family without makeup, but for now, fully painted face it is when we have company! (Excuse the photo quality, my little webcam can only manage so much)
What I used:
My base is Garnier BB Cream in light (yes, I'm still trying to get rid of the stuff) which I took the shine off of using my E.l.f clarifying pressed powder. To brighten my cheeks up I used Hot Mama by The Balm. It's one of my favourite summer blushers because it also contains a slight golden shimmer which has a pretty sun kissed look.
To add colour to my eyes I used my Glam Metallics liquid eyeliner by Collection 2000 in the shade Groupie. I picked this up a while back in Asda for just 98p and its a really good dupe for the MAC liquidlast eyeliner in Aqualine which I adored for years before I used it all up. Other than that I just added one coat of Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara and filled in my brows with my usual Rimmel London brow pencil.
To finish off I popped a slick of Estee Lauder Pure Colour Gloss in Pink Kiss over my lips and ta dah, guest ready Annie! Thank goodness for the 5 minute face eh, this really showed me that I spend most time fiddling with eye shading by far.
I also found some time to paint my nails this fab purple colour today. The colour is Cyber from the Sally Hansen HD collection, and let me tell you, whilst the colour is amazing, it is sooo not worth the effort. To gain opacity it takes 3-4 coats because the formula is so thin and even after waiting hours for the stuff to dry it chipped almost instantly so give me Nails Inc any day over this. Huge disappointment!
Now I do believe it is time to slop in front of a dvd and drink strawberry cider. Yayayay!
How do you spend your days off? Have you found any of the Sally Hansen ranges as disappointing as I've found this one?
Annie x

Hello,
Isn't it a shame the bad weather is back?
Work today for me and I'm off to a singing rehearsal in a little bit. I love singing so it will be good to exercise my vocal chords again.
Simple make-up for me today because of work.

FOTD- Red and Gold Eyes
Hello,
Isn't the weather miserable today? I decided to brighten my day up with a little colourful make-up.
My eye bags appear to be alarmingly large today so apologies for that!
I've noticed recently that I've moved away from colourful eye make-up so I've decided to make a conscious effort to get back into the habit. I used to have big bold eyes everyday so I'm not too sure what happened.
As the base I've just used a small amount of Garnier BB cream topped with my trusty Calvin Klein pressed powder and a sweep of a light blusher across the cheeks. On my lips I used my Lush Lip Scrub and a light pink Barry M lipgloss.
To get the look on my eyes, first of all I used an eye primer to keep the colour looking bold and crease free. Using a flat brush I applied the gold shadow to the inner corner of the eye, blending it out towards the middle of the eye. I did this on the top and bottom then, after cleaning the brush, I lightly built up the red around the edges, blending it inwards until the two colours meet and blend together in the middle of the eyelid. I extended the red a little along the crease of the eye to give more depth. Next I used a waterproof black pencil in the water line to enhance the lower lashes and finished off with a coat of Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara and a spritz of setting spray.
Et voila!
Do you like the bold eyed look? Does anyone know when this gloomy weather will end?

FOTD- Spring Pastels
Hello,
Is anyone else really fed up with all of the rain and grey weather we're having? I'm so desperate to start wearing all of my pretty summer dresses or even just a little cardigan rather than a thick coat!
Alas, for now I'll just have to channel the summer vibe through my make-up. Today I've been wearing pretty pastel shades.
I seem to have pretty big eye bags here after my night of not much sleep last night but other than that, I was really happy with todays look.

I really like light, fairly natural looking make-up so these are all products that I reach for pretty often. I know there has been a lot of disagreement over Cream Puff amongbeauty bloggers recently, but I personally love it. It might be that I happen to suit this colour better than some people do, but I haven't found any problems at all. The smell and taste is yummy, the consistency creamy and the pigmentation high quality.
What do you think of todays look? Have you tried Cream Puff?

FOTD 1920's Flapper and a Photo Shoot
Hello,
I'm posting this a lot later than intended after a lot of drama last night led to spending most of the early evening asleep. Anyways, today I have another FOTD post for you although this is definitely not a look I drag out often. Today was the promotional photo shoot for a play that I'm taking part in during May. Set in the 1920's, Six for the Charleston and Two for Love is a musical comedy. Its a great play and I'm really looking forward to taking part in it.
I play a rather vampish flapper girl called Daisy who wears a lot of heavy make-up so here is the look that I went for. I decided big black eyes and bold lips worked best on me along with the characteristically pale face of the 20's.

The signature style of the 1920's involved the use of dark red lipstick that was applied in a way to accentuate the cupids bow. This was worn against very pale skin that was livened up with the use of fairly brightly coloured pink blush that would be used to contour cheekbones more than on the apples of the cheek.
Flapper style also displayed a lot of heavy eye make-up with thickly drawn in brows that would frame the face by being extended out to the side, further than the width of the eye. In order to keep the look glamourous and not too heavy, smokey eye effects were created using a combination of greyscale shades with the centre shade remaining fairly light. To really make the eye pop lashings of mascara and thick false lashes were used to pad out and draw attention to the flapper.
What I Used:
Face:
- Mac Studio Fix NC15 foundation
- Benefit The POREfessional pore refining Primer
- Calvin Klein Long Waer Pressed Powder
- The Balm Hot Mama Blusher
- Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Concealer
Lips:
- Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub
- Pixi Lip Blush in Love
- 17 Mirror Shine Lipstick in Red Devil
Eyes:
- E.l.f Cream Shadow Duo in Black Licorice
- Bobbi Brown Pastel Eye Palette
- MAC Smokey Eye kit
- MAC Venomous Villains Mineralize Duo in My Dark Magic
- Ted Baker Eyeliner Pencil in Black
- Rimmel London Scandeleyes Mascara in Extreme Black
What do you think of the 1920's flapper make-up? Is it a look that you've tried? I've been told it suits me but I'm not sure I'm sold, what do you think? Here's an iPhone snap from the photoshoot to show you the rest of the cast too. I'm the one in the dodgy short black wig :P

FOTD Spring Time
Hello,
Just a little face of the day post for you today. I've had a lovely day out with my mum to try to counteract all the little annoyances that life is throwing at us both. I tried my very best to be good but I did end up buying a few bits and I treated myself to some new bras because I really did need those haha.
Today I went for a light, spring face. I used BB cream instead of my usual foundation and a nice light blushed to stay looking softly highlighted.
On my face I used Garnier BB cream in Light, Calvin Klein Long Wear pressed powder in Light, Estee Lauder Double Wear concealer in Light (haha, trend much?!) and The POREfessional from Benefit. I also used an unbranded blusher that I've had for years to highlight my cheek bones and E.l.f Natural Radiance blusher in Coy to contour the cheek bones.
To create the eye effect I used my Chilli Pepper palette which I'm trying to pan at the moment. I used the nude shade which is almost all gone all over the lid and applied the dark grey along the lid near the last line. On the waterline I used a soft Ted Baker eyeliner pencil before finishing off with one coat of Scandaleyes mascara.
My eyebrows I filled out with my Rimmel London brow pencil in Black/Brown.
I used my Lush lip scrub to remove any chapped skin from my lips before using Pixi lip stain in Love before topping with a coat of Barry M lipgloss.
Finally, I set the look using my E.l.f mist and set spray to make sure the look stayed in place all day :)
As you can see, I'm still loving the bright lip look :P I'm sorry for the repetition but I have another FOTD lined up for you tomorrow to show off the 1920's style make-up that I will be wearing during a play in in during May. We have the promotional photo shoot tomorrow so I'm looking forward to that!
What have you been up to so far this weekend? Have you posted today? If so, link me up, I'm looking for some new reading material :)
